DLC now available in free iPhone apps

Developers will be able to release games and applications which can be supported entirely by downloadable content, according to Pocket Gamer.
It will also reduce the need for 'Lite' versions of games, as a full version can be unlocked from within a free download.
The move will combat piracy as purchases will need to be verified with each transaction.
The scheme has been in place for paid games since the 3.0 firmware update earlier this year.
