Black Wii confirmed for UK launch
Nintendo has confirmed plans to release a black version of its Wii console in the UK and Republic of Ireland next month.

Available on November 6, the black Wii will be offered as part of a limited edition bundle, including a Wii Remote (with MotionPlus) and Nunchuk in black, along with copies of Wii Sports and Wii Sports Resort. The package will be released in Europe on November 20.

Commenting on the launch, Nintendo senior Wii product manager Rob Lowe told MCV: "Nintendo has always taken the European market seriously and this isn’t the first time a product has launched in the UK or Europe before the US.

"We are keen to launch the black Wii in time for the Christmas sales season and this starts slightly earlier in the UK and Republic of Ireland."

Exact pricing for the bundle has not yet been confirmed, but the package cost around £157 when it was first launched in Japan in August.

The company will also offer a range of black accessories, including the new Classic Controller Pro, which will launch across Europe on November 20.
