Speaking at the BMO Capital Markets Digital Entertainment Conference, the exec revealed that the studio currently holds a 6% market share, and is hoping to increase this with a multi-tiered strategy.
The firm's business plan includes a focus on three sectors: present and future consoles, online and social networks and entertainment convergence. Earlier this year, Ubisoft announced Uplay - a web-based service that will allow gamers greater connectivity with one another - and expanded its roster of movie licences.
"We have many opportunities to gain market share," Gillemot said during the event, which took place in the wake of reports that pre-order sales of Assassin's Creed II are up by 10-20% over the original.
Ubisoft will release Assassin's Creed II for PC and Xbox 360 in North America on November 17 and Europe on November 20. A PC edition will arrive in March next year.
