Russia recalls 'Modern Warfare 2'
Activision's Call Of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 has been recalled in Russia due to its controversial airport massacre scene, according to reports.

In an early level of the game, players join gunmen in a Russian airport as they open fire on a terrified group of civilians.

The sequence is completely optional in the main campaign and comes with a full warning beforehand about its potential to offend.

However, it is understood that the first-person shooter has been recalled entirely in Russia due to sensitivity around the scene's graphic depiction of violence by Russian terrorists.

In response, Activision has already moved to release a patched version of the game on PC with the scene edited out. Similarly adapted console versions are expected imminently.
