The PlayStation Network video delivery service has now gone live across Europe, Sony Computer Entertainment has announced.

Over 2,000 movies are available to rent or buy via the platform. The service is currently accessible in the UK, France, Germany and Spain. It will arrive in other territories next year.

Launch titles include Angels And Demons, Bruno, The Dark Knight, Drag Me to Hell, Gran Torino, Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix, , Public Enemies, Star Trek, Terminator Salvation and X-Men Origins: Wolverine. Additional content will be added on a weekly basis.

"The launch of the PlayStation Network video delivery service extends our entertainment offering and provides consumers with another way to access their favourite movies, whether at home or on the go," said SCEE CEO Andrew House.

Purchased films can be stored on the PS3's hard drive and transferred to the PSP to watch on the move. Customers who opt to rent films have up to 14 days to view them, but once playback is started, they are only valid for 48 hours.

A special launch offer for existing PSN members allows them to receive a complimentary copy of The Da Vinci Code when they purchase Angels And Demons. Customers who register a new account between November 19 and November 30 will be offered a free copy of Transformers.
