Devs considered 3D for iPhone 'Avatar'

Gameloft senior product manager Nicolas Rodighiero said that it was discussed but would have been too complicated to implement.
"We had some technical discussions, but then it was too complex and in the end we said that we didn't want to put technology before the game," he told DS.
Rodighiero explained that the technology has been tried and tested on the system, and the firm is considering using it in a possible sequel.
"We could have [done] fake stuff, but it would turn out like an application, when we are doing games," he continued.
"Some companies did some applications in 3D with Avatar, so that you use your webcam from your PC, it was like augmented reality. But that's an application, it's not a real game.
"So as we're a gaming company we went separate. Maybe for Avatar 2, I don't know."
The PS3 version of Avatar will be developed with the technology in mind.
Avatar will be released on iPhone in December.
