Writing on the European PlayStation blog, Sony brand manager Penrose Tackie confirmed the return of the GT Academy for 2010.
After the demo arrives on the PlayStation Network in two weeks time, participants will be able to race a Nissan 370Z around a new Gran Turismo 5 circuit.
The fastest times recorded in each of the 20 participating countries will be advanced to a national final. An elite group of 20 drivers will then secure a place at the GT Academy.
In the 2009 event, Lucas Ordonez from Spain achieved overall victory and joined the Nissan PlayStation race team at the GT4 Championship.
Gran Turismo 5 will be released for PS3 in March 2010.
