EA Games gets behind online, DLC
Electronic Arts has announced plans to incorporate online elements or downloadable content into all of its forthcoming development projects.

According to IGN, EA's John Schappert told an investor conference call that the publisher sees growth in online play and DLC.

"In fiscal 2011, every one of EA's releases will have an online component, both downloadable content and online play," he said.

Last month, EA Canada senior producer Jason DeLong predicted that game prices will fall in the "near future" as studios focus more on money-spinning additional content.

Also this week, the publishing giant confirmed release dates for its forthcoming key titles, including Crysis 2 and a few mystery projects.

Crytek's console first-person shooter Crysis 2 will be released in the final quarter of 2010, alongside Dead Space 2 and Criterion's new Need for Speed title.

EA also plans to release a "Dragon Age title" in the final three months of this year, as well as an unnanmed "action title" created by Gears of War developer Epic Games.

In Q3, the publisher will release browser-based game Need for Speed World and the much anticipated reboot of the Medal of Honour franchise.
