According to the LA Times, the video game company is holding active discussions with a number of studios, with Fox and Peter Chernin' s new production company "the likely venue at which the property will end up".
Missile Command was originally released in 1980, and sees players defend the planet Zardon from the invaders of Krytol.
Missile Command would follow games such as Prince Of Persia, Resident Evil and Doom to be adapted into a movie.
