'Vanquish' given a winter release
Published Sunday, Mar 7 2010, 09:16 GMT | By Mark Langshaw

Directed by Shinji Mikami, the action-orientated game sees a future energy crisis spark a conflict between Russia and the US.
Players will step into the shoes of a government agent named Sam as he takes on an army of robotic enemies. Teaser footage for the title showed an armoured man in an outer space gun battle. The game will feature a mixture of live-action footage and computer graphics.
According to Mikami, the development team's goal is "to inject the extreme pace of an action game into a shooter."
Vanquish will be available for PS3 and Xbox 360. An official release date is yet to be announced.
