Nomura, who served as artist on the original game, suggested that a follow-up could be in the pipeline during a Twitter interview.
"A Dissidia Final Fantasy sequel - we'll work at it," he said.
It is unknown whether the exec's comments mean that the title is in development, or something he is planning to pitch to the studio.
The original game was debuted in Europe last summer. It was recently given a digital release in the territory.
