ELSPA undergoes name change

Published Saturday, Mar 20 2010, 09:24 GMT | By Mark Langshaw
The Entertainment and Leisure Software Publishers Association (ELSPA) has changed its name to the UK Interactive Entertainment Association, MCV reports.

ELSPA executives approved the name change at a meeting yesterday. It will operate under the new banner from this summer.

"The ELSPA Board proposed the change to the organisation's name to reflect the evolving and expanding nature of the industry, which the association exists to represent, and to encompass the new areas of activity that will be undertaken," read a statement.

"ELSPA will be engaging regularly with its members during the process to learn their views and wishes for the new organisation."

The watchdog previously underwent a rebranding in 2002, when it changed its name from the European Leisure Software Publishers Association.
