Miyamoto addresses 2009 software deficit

In an interview with The Economist, the exec explained that Nintendo's sales figures dropped from the previous year because of the quality of the games it produced.
"The fact that in 2009 we were not able to sell more than we did in 2008 was simply that in comparison, we were not able to produce fun-enough products," he said.
"There are always ups and downs in this business. As long as we create unique and unprecedented experiences with videogames, there should be nothing to worry about."
Last week, Miyamoto was awarded a BAFTA Fellowship for his contribution to gaming.
Nintendo is currently prepping Super Mario Galaxy 2 for release and working on another Wii instalment in its Legend Of Zelda franchise.
