The film director, who is currently preparing for the release of Resident Evil: Afterlife, said that he wants to create companion games for all future film projects.
Speaking to MTV, Anderson explained: "In the future I want to be developing intellectual properties that will occupy both spaces simultaneously.
"I've been actively involved in the gaming world for 15 years now, talking to developers ever since Mortal Kombat, so I think I have a very good appreciation for what their needs and what their concerns are."
He added: "I think I really do know how to join the two medias together in a successful way, and that's what I'll be working on in the next few years."
Anderson is currently developing a new film based on The Three Musketeers story, but said that the project is far too advanced for a companion video game.
However, he is also attached to direct a 3D Buck Rogers film, which he suggested could be more suitable for simultaneously developing a game property.
"Buck Rogers is something that's starting from ground zero right now, so that's definitely something that I would be considering doing," he said.
"Really my approach to bridging the two medias is from Buck onwards."
Resident Evil: Afterlife will be released in the US on September 10, while the Buck Rogers movie is currently slated to hit cinema screens at some point in 2011.
