Free expansion coming to MMO 'Love'

AVAIL will add character progression and mineral resources as part of new long-term goals for the massively-multiplayer game.
"One of the greatest strengths of Love is that you are always playing at the same level as everyone else, and you are never shut out because you don't have a high enough level character or don't have the right gear," said creator Eskil Steenberg.
"I am very committed to protect this level of freedom but at the same time there are some downsides to how Love works right now. Many players feel that while enjoyable the game is pointless. You build only to have it be destroyed, and they would like to see a more long term goal to pursue."
The expansion will increase players' standing based on cooperation with other users. There will be no classes, but experienced players will stand out so that newcomers can approach them and ask for guidance.
The other major addition, resource mining, will pave the way for new tools and upgrade tokens, and will interact "with the existing gameplay to multiply the number of possibilities" available. Other features such as player lists and outpost monoliths will be added.
The expansion will be available free through a series of updates by the end of the year.
Love was officially launched on PC earlier this year.
