The open-world action title, which is out tomorrow, currently holds three of the top five positions on Amazon's Xbox 360, PS3 and PS3 Slim bestseller charts on pre-orders alone.
"This is undoubtedly the most hotly-anticipated video game of the year so far," said Amazon UK director of video games Chris Poad.
"Demand has risen significantly over the last week as excitement and buzz around the game has built, making it one of the most successful titles we have seen on Amazon.co.uk this year before it has even been released."
Meanwhile, Wedbush Securities analyst Michael Pachter has admitted that he was wrong to be sceptical about Red Dead Redemption.
Speaking to CVG, Pachter accepted that he was off the mark in saying that a Western game could not achieve strong sales.
"I suppose we should call [Rockstar] visionaries. I have been sceptical a long time, but they always believed that a Western, if done well, would sell well," said Pachter.
"It looks like they were right all along. Nobody can doubt that they made a great game."
