TIGA and ELPSA unite for tax breaks

The two parties will form a steering committee built specifically for arguing the case for tax breaks, as well as for reviewing the original submission for relief by TIGA and to address why the coalition government dropped the plans in its emergency Budget.
"The UK video games industry is an industry of the future. It is an export oriented, high-tech, high skills, revenue-generating industry," said TIGA chairman Richard Wilson.
"The games industry and policymakers know that the UK does not operate on a level playing field and we are seeing jobs and investment move abroad to countries that offer specific games tax breaks."
Last month, Activision Blizzard announced that it would back TIGA in support of tax relief for the industry.
