Epic Games has shown its first project for iPhone devices.
Developed using Unreal Engine 3, codename Project Sword is a first-person role-playing game which will allow players to explore a medieval world and take part in duels.
Game Centre will be integrated into the game from launch, offering leaderboards, achievement support and peer-to-peer matchmaking.
The developer has also released a free tech demo for Apple devices using Unreal Engine 3 titled Epic Citadel, which can be downloaded from today.
Project Sword will be released around Christmas for iPhone, iPod Touch and iPad.
The game was shown as part of a new iPod, Apple TV and iTunes lineup introduced at this year's Apple iPod Conference.
