Nintendo has briefed retailers in Japan that a re-release of the SNES compilation, which featured updated versions of the original Mario trilogy, will commemorate the 25th anniversary of Mario, according to Andriasang.
The package will also come with a history booklet and soundtrack CD featuring music spanning the entire back catalogue of Mario's adventures.
The report gave it a release date of October 21 in Japan and a ¥2,500 (£19) price point.
