Franchise general manager for Europe Michael Sportouch said that it hopes to surpass Modern Warfare 2 as the biggest game release of all time.
“We’ve a fantastic game and a fantastic marketing campaign so our ambition is to set another record like we did with Modern Warfare 2,” he told MCV.
“The resources invested behind Black Ops, in terms of development of the game and the marketing, are the highest ever for Activision. Our ambition is not only to be the biggest game but also the biggest entertainment launch of the year."
It was revealed that the first advert will be shown at half-time during tonight's England vs. Bulgaria match, and "from there it's going to be non-stop".
The first multiplayer details of the game were recently revealed, as well as a trailer showing the Wager Match mode.
Call Of Duty: Black Ops will be released for Xbox 360, PS3 and PC from November 9.
