The British Board Of Film Classification (BBFC) has given Sony's God Of War: Ghost Of Sparta an 18-rating on the PSP due to its "strong sex references and infrequent gore".

Despite imposing the adult rating on the game, which follows 2008's Chains Of Olympus, the BBFC opted to pass the title with no cuts to its content.

Earlier in the month, US ratings body the ESRB revealed more details about Ghost Of Sparta's sex mini-game, which has become a trademark of the God Of War series.

It said: "The game... contains a sex mini-game in which players may lead topless women into a bedroom.

"Actual sex is never depicted; the camera pans out to the foot of a shaking bed. As players respond to on-screen prompts with button presses, loud moaning sounds can be heard."

God Of War: Ghost Of Sparta will be released on the PSP in November.
