Krome Studios is to be shut down, it has been confirmed.

Rumours last week suggested that the developer's two remaining offices in Brisbane and Melbourne were to be shut following a string of unsuccessful projects.

It has been confirmed by IGN that the studio has laid off its staff over the weekend and is set to close, but may install a skeleton crew to finish any remaining projects before a full closure takes place.

Microsoft has yet to comment on the status of its Game Room service, which the developer has been maintaining since launch earlier this year.
