'Bejeweled 3' announced for December
Published Monday, Nov 1 2010, 17:08 GMT | By Matthew Reynolds
Bejeweled 3 has been announced for PC and Mac.
The sequel to the best-selling puzzle game will be available on December 7 from PopCap's website as well as retail stores in North America.
The game will centre around four modes; normal gameplay in Classic, multiple challenges in Quest, the relaxing Zen area and the timer-based Lightning mode.
As well as high definition visuals, the title will include new unlockable games with a Bejeweled twist, including Ice Storm, Poker and Butterflies.
"The challenge in creating a new version of Bejeweled is to innovate and keep it fresh and exciting without losing touch with the game play that millions of people love. So we're very careful when we make changes to the core game, which is why it can take so long!" said co-founder Jason Kapalka.
"We've worked hard to make sure Bejeweled 3 retains the classic appeal of the earlier games while bringing a host of exciting new features to the table."
