The follow-up will continue to be helmed by developer High Moon Studios after a strong critical response for the first game, according to IGN.
"This is the most highly-rated, critical success of any game that's had the Hasbro brand yet and we're looking forward to a sequel in 2012," said Hasbro's general manager of digital media Mark Blecher.
Also announced was a movie tie-in for Dark Of The Moon for next summer as well as an undated Transformers MMO.
