Speaking in a promotional video, Ubisoft Toronto general manager Jade Raymond confirmed previous reports of the production of a new entry in the stealth series.
"We're working on Splinter Cell 6, the next iteration of the blockbuster franchise, and we're doing it entirely here in Toronto," she said.
The game is one of five major titles in development at the firm's recently established Toronto studio, which is expected to expand its workforce of 83 employees in the near future.
"Within the next ten years we plan to ramp up this studio to at least 800 people, and we're ahead of schedule on that," she added.
A release date for Splinter Cell 6 is yet to be announced.
