Sports Interactive director Miles Jacobson has been awarded an OBE in the Queen's New Year Honours List.

The exec received recognition for his services to the industry, which include working on the BAFTA games committee and Develop advisory board, and his role as a founding trustee of GamesAid.

"It really is very humbling, and is further recognition for the whole SI team around the world. I'm a bit lost for words at the moment, so I'll leave it at that for now," Jacobson wrote on the Sports Interactive forums.

Last year, the studio's co-founders Paul and Oliver Collyer were handed MBEs in the honours list. Other games industry figures to receive OBEs include Eidos president Ian Livingstone and Fable Lionhead boss Peter Molyneux.
