It has also been designed to accommodate a Home button repositioned closer to the bottom edge.
Although several firms have already produced cases estimating the iPad 2's new additions, it is the first to feature a placeholder device that is smaller than the current iPad.
The next generation iPad is rumoured to be released next month.
