Executive director Kevin Boyle told Game Informer (via Escapist Magazine) that it will have more suspense than its other adventure properties, and will include slow-paced character building and investigation sections.
It will also feature Heavy Rain-inspired moments of reacting to on-screen button commands, and an element of choice for open-ended gameplay.
The series will take place during and after the events of the original film, covering unanswered plot points such as the missing can of dinosaur embryos that Dennis Nedry lost.
As well as returning characters from the movie, it will feature mercenaries, smugglers and a nocturnal dinosaur with glowing eyes.
The five-episode series will be available on PC and Mac later this year.
