The storefront, which allows users to sell custom-made tracks, will only support Rock Band 3 after the update, according to Joystiq.
Any new tracks released after February 15 will not be playable on previous versions of the game.
New instruments such as Pro Drums, Keyboard and Vocal Harmonies will be supported after the switch.
Rock Band 3 was released last October.
