By
Nintendo 3DS
An online 3DS price war has erupted following the announcement that the handheld will launch on March 25.

Despite pricing the US version at $249.99, Nintendo did not reveal a UK price, instead saying that it was up to retailers how much the machine would cost.

Subsequently, HMV is taking pre-orders on its website for £229.99, while Play.com is opting for the cheaper price of £219.99.

Meanwhile, Asda is the cheapest retailer for games, advertising all of its 3DS titles for £29.91, compared to £32.99 at Gamestation and £39.99 at GAME.
