EA subsidiary Danger Close has confirmed that it is working on a sequel to Medal Of Honour.

Posting on the game's official blog, executive producer Greg Goodrich revealed that strong sales of last year's series reboot led to EA fast-tracking a follow-up.

"Yes, Danger Close is currently working on the next Medal of Honour," he wrote. "Just recently, EA announced that the reboot of Medal Of Honour was a big success with over 5 million copies sold.

"We wanted to take a moment to thank each of you for supporting us, our new studio and our storied franchise. We would especially like to thank all of the long time Medal Of Honour fans out there who have stuck with us over the years."

Goodrich explained that in the previous game, the studio had intended to tell the story of modern day servicemen and women with the "utmost respect and reverence". He went on to say that they have received letters and emails of praise from soldiers and their families since its release.

A potential release window for Medal Of Honour 2 is yet to be announced.
