PS Plus subs receiving online save storage

By
PlayStation Plus
Online storage for game saves will be available to PlayStation Plus members from tomorrow, it has been announced.

Subscribers will have access to 150MB of space, and can store up to 1,000 game saves from any PlayStation 3 game.

To use the service, players must highlight the game save, press Triangle and then copy the file to the 'Online Storage' area.

On another console, users can then access the Online Storage List in the Saved Data Utility area of the XMB to download their progress.

If a save has been copy protected by a publisher, then users cannot download the save to any PlayStation 3 console for 24 hours.

Saves will no longer be accessible if subscribers cancel their membership, but they will be held for a six-month period.

The service will be available to those that download firmware update 3.60.
