Stern Agree's Arvind Bhatia has told Gamasutra that he wouldn't be "surprised" if Nintendo showed the console during E3.
"We would not be surprised if Nintendo unveiled the specifications of its next console at E3 in June this year, followed by product introduction early next year," he said.
Last year, president Satoru Iwata said that Nintendo was working on the system, and that it was under wraps to "positively surprise people".
Wedbush Securities analyst Michael Pachter had told DS that the Wii 2 would be "too late" to compete with other systems.
