According to MCV, the device launches with six titles - Crash Bandicoot, FIFA 10, Bruce Lee Dragon Warriors, Star Battalion, Tetris, and The Sims 3 with 50 more available via PlayStation Suite.
The handset will be available in all mobile carriers and retailers, and may also be sold via gaming outlets.
"We are currently still in commercial conversation, but I'd be surprised if we didn't see Xperia Play appear in other channels," said Sony Ericsson marketing director David Hilton.
"All the mobile operators and retailers are selling it. It is rare these days to get a product that is sold everywhere, but this is one of those. This will be the biggest marketing campaign we have had in the UK."
Xperia Play will be available on March 31.
