Electronic Arts removed the multiplayer teaser citing connection issues for a number of users, and it wants to ensure that the full game has a "flawless" launch next week.
"Though many gamers have had a great experience playing the demo, we are aware that others have been experiencing server connection delays," read a statement.
"We've identified the root cause and have decided to close the PS3 demo in the next 24 hours to ensure all issues are resolved when the game launches next week. Our priority is to ensure that the final product is flawless at launch."
The multiplayer demo was released on PSN earlier this week. It was recently revealed that Oscar-winning composer Hans Zimmer had contributed to the game's soundtrack.
Crysis 2 will be available on Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and PC from next week in North America and Europe.
