Kaos Studios has said that the day-one update will make a "significant difference" to the game, fixing issues with accepting friend invites, joining matches and providing various bug fixes.
While fewer problems have been reported for the Xbox 360 version, an update currently in development will target the most "outstanding issues".
Elsewhere, a small hotfix addressing minor problems has been released for the PC version.
"We have already dramatically increased server capacity to meet the unprecedented demand, which is addressing many of the connection issues we saw yesterday," read a statement.
"Our data shows that that the vast majority of Homefront players are enjoying multiplayer without issue, however we are tracking and addressing a number of known issues on both PS3 and 360."
Despite mixed reviews from critics, the title sold 375,000 copies in its first day of sale in the US.
Homefront is available now for Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and PC.
