Rockstar Games' crime thriller is the first video game to be recognised by the festival, and will be given an exclusive preview at the Tribeca Talks series on April 25.
As well as a live interactive screening of one of the game's cases, a Q&A session moderated by Tribeca Enterprises CCO Geoff Gilmore will explore the crossover between filmmaking and interactive entertainment.
"What Rockstar and Team Bondi have accomplished with L.A. Noire is nothing less than groundbreaking," said Gilmore.
"It's an invention of a new realm of storytelling that is part cinema, part gaming, and a whole new realm of narrative expression, interactivity, and immersion. We are poised on the edge of a new frontier."
Rockstar Games founder Sam Houser added: "We're thrilled that L.A. Noire is being recognised by the Tribeca Film Festival in this way. It's a real honour, and another step forward for interactive entertainment."
L.A. Noire will be available on Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 on May 17 in North America and May 20 in Europe.
