A Law & Order: LA video game has been announced by Telltale Games.

Expected for release later this year, it will allow users to play out full investigations, including interrogating suspects and seeing the case's conclusion in the courtroom.

"Law & Order: LA fits very well with the style of episodic entertainment experiences Telltale has been building since our very first days," said CEO Dan Connors.

"The talents and skills that we've been building at Telltale are ideally suited for the structure and storytelling approach of televised procedurals like Law & Order."

Universal digital platforms general manager Bill Kispert added: "Telltale's attention to the details and nuances of the source material in the games they develop, combined with the drama of their episodic storytelling, is a combination that game-playing fans of the Law & Order franchise will love."

Telltale games has been responsible for episodic titles such as Sam & Max, Wallace & Gromit and Back to the Future.

The firm will also be handling games in the Jurassic Park and The Walking Dead franchises.

Law & Order: LA will be available on PC, consoles, mobile devices and tablets.
