Speaking to Edge, the game design icon called for a revamped edition of SNES title Zelda: A Link To The Past and confirmed that established franchises will appear on the platform's e-Store.
"I think if it's meaningful for 3DS. For me it's important that anyone can play, and that it's easy and comfortable for anyone - it's not forcing a game into the hardware itself," Miyamoto told the publication.
He added: "Do you remember Xevious? It's two-layered and I really wanted to create that at the time. So to see Link To The Past in two layers would be quite attractive for me."
A 3D remake of N64 classic Zelda: The Ocarina Of Time will be released for the system in June.
Enhanced editions of older Nintendo titles such as Super Mario Land and Link's Awakening will be available via 3DS storefront, which launches in May.
