Nintendo president Satoru Iwata told investors that a 3D edition of the game will act as an incentive to download the system's eShop update, according to CVG.
Iwata also said that Game Boy and Game Boy Color games would be available on the download service, as well as more classic download formats.
Available from late May, the eShop update will provide support for 3DSWare and Virtual Console games.
So far Capcom and Sega have confirmed their support for the downloadable services, with Mega Man Legends 3: Prototype Version and Game Gear games in the works.
