'Darkness 2' release date illuminated

First revealed at San Diego's Comic-Con in 2009, The Darkness 2 is the sequel to the 2007 hit based on Top Cow's comic series of the same name.
The Darkness 2 takes place two years after the first game, with protagonist Jackie Estacado taking over as the don of the Estacado crime family. An attempt on Jackie's life triggers a mob war that once again unleashes the Darkness inside him.
The game will feature what it calls "Quad-Wielding gameplay" as players fire weapons with both hands while simultaneously slashing and grabbing enemies with two snake-like demon arms.
The Darkness 2 will be released on October 4 in North America and October 7 in the UK for Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and PC.
