Kicking off yesterday at 10am PDT, the event runs until the same time on Tuesday, May 10.
The studio is running the multiplatform promotion for an extended period as
a gesture of thanks to fans for helping the game's
Facebook page surpass 10 million 'likes'.
'Escalation' includes four new multiplayer maps - Zoo, Convoy, Stockpile and Hotel. It also features a new zombie stage starring Buffy The Vampire Slayer's Sarah Michelle Gellar and horror director George Romero.
The DLC has already been released as an Xbox 360 timed exclusive as part of a three-year agreement between Microsoft and Activision. It is available to download for 1200 MS points (£10.20 / $15).
A release date for the PC and PS3 version is expected to be announced soon.
