The Canadian-based development team, which is known for its library of digital releases, will be working with Megadodo Publications to bring the Hitchhiker's game to life.
A press release for the title did not reveal a launch date or platform details, but said that it "will be available not only on your planet but also on all nearby systems including Alpha Centauri".
The studio's past efforts include downloadable games such as DeathSpank, Swarm and the Penny Arcade Adventures series.
The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy was created by Douglas Adams and first appeared on BBC Radio 4 in 1978.
A film adaptation starring Martin Freeman was released in 2005.
