Luigi's Mansion 2 is a sequel to the GameCube launch title, which saw Luigi attempt to rid a haunted mansion of its ghosts armed only with a vacuum cleaner.
The new game will feature stereoscopic 3D visuals, as well as new gameplay mechanics and multiple mansions to explore. No release date was announced.
Mario Kart was also detailed, with Nintendo of America president Reggie Fils-Aime describing it as an "entirely new" version.
New tracks, car customisation, as well as gliding through the air and underwater racing will be part of the game.
Mario Kart 3DS will be released on Nintendo 3DS later this year.
