Executive producer Siobhan Reddy told Game Lab attendees that the company will be working on new games going forward, according to Edge.
"We're stepping away from LittleBigPlanet to focus on some new ideas," she said.
LittleBigPlanet was released in 2008, and was acclaimed for its extensive level editing tools and the ability to share creations online.
It was followed up by LittleBigPlanet 2 earlier this year, which allowed players to create stages within multiple game genres, and has since seen a higher user count than the original.
Media Molecule, which is based in Surrey, was purchased by Sony Computer Entertainment in 2010.
