PlayStation 3 and PSP users in the region will have full access to all online services from Wednesday, July 6, according to Andriasang.
PlayStation Network titles, in-game purchases, code redemptions and use of music service Qriocity will all be available.
PlayStation Network went offline in April due to a severe breach in security that led to personal details and credit card information being stolen. Full access to the service in Europe and North America was restored last month.
While Sony has not revealed the reasons behind the delay in Japan, it has been suggested that government regulators halted PSN's restoration following security concerns.
Welcome Back offers, including free games and a subscription to PlayStation Plus, have been extended for North American and European users until tomorrow.
