Harmonix, developers behind the Rock Band and Dance Central series, have filed a trademark for a new game Vidrhythm.

No information has been revealed about the game, though its title indicates that it will play to Harmonix's strength in the music and rhythm genre.

Earlier in the year Harmonix stated a desire to pursue games on the Nintendo 3DS and PlayStation Vita. It is possible that Vidrhythm is in development for either handheld platform.

The company is also currently developing Dance Central 2 for Xbox 360 and Kinect which will feature a new simultaneous 2-player mode.

Harmonix recently revealed that there are no plans to release a sequel for Rock Band 3 this year, citing the large downloadable content library.

However, company executive Chris Rigopulos said that Harmonix "is still developing new ideas and concepts to advance the Rock Band franchise, and we look forward to sharing those when the time is right."
