The AllClear ID Plus Identity Theft Protection programme will now be available at no cost until the end of July, expiring one year after the user has registered.
Sony announced plans to implement AllClear ID Plus in the US and UK after the PlayStation Network was hit by a security breach. The service offers additional protection of the customer's personal information, identity theft insurance and other benefits.
The personal information of more than 77 million users was thought to have been compromised as a result of the PSN hack. An additional 23,400 users had their credit card and bank information leaked following a separate attack on Sony Online Entertainment.
Hacker collective Anonymous was implicated by Sony in the PSN hack, though the group later denied the theft of any credit card or banking details.
Sony is expected to announce AllClear ID Plus protection for users in Canada and Latin America in the future.
