Co-publisher Jim Lee told Kotaku that some of the changes introduced in the September relaunch will find their way to the superhero MMO.
"I think we're going to be able to tie into the relaunch in subtle ways in the game going forward," he told the website.
"Maybe in terms of items you acquire in the game that might give players the ability to look like some of the new costumes. But there's no realistic way to go in and re-skin all of these models that were already made."
DC Universe was released for PC and PS3 in February. A downloadable content pack was recently issued to coincide with the Green Lantern movie.
DC's 'New 52' initiative begins on August 31 with the launch of a new Justice League series by Geoff Johns and Jim Lee.
