'Battlefield 3' limited edition, pre-order bonuses unveiled

Electronic Arts has announced a limited-edition version of Battlefield 3 along with retailer-specific pre-order bonuses in the US and UK.

Pre-orders for the game through Gamestop in North America or Game and Gamestation in the UK will receive the Physical Warfare Pack, which includes three exclusive weapons: the type 88 light machine gun with bipod, the SKS sniper rifle flash suppressor and armour-piercing flechette ammo for the DAO-12 semi-automatic shotgun.

Amazon UK and Best Buy will offer the SPECACT Kit, which unlocks eight multiplayer skins for players to customise their appearance.

Play.com and Amazon US will offer an exclusive set of dog tags for multiplayer.

All pre-orders will automatically be upgraded to the limited-edition version of Battlefield 3 which includes the standard game and early access to the Back to Karkand DLC map pack.

Battlefield 3 will launch on October 25 in North America and October 28 in Europe. The game will release alongside the tie-in novel Battlefield 3: The Russian, written by former SAS operator Andy McNab.
